Private Transfers to Divani Palace Acropolis from Airport and Ports

Divani Palace Acropolis hotel in central Athens with views of the Acropolis.

Few Athens hotels sit as close to the ancient city as Divani Palace Acropolis. The Acropolis rises just up the road, the Acropolis Museum and the lanes of Plaka are a short walk away and the rooftop looks straight across to the Parthenon. It is a five star address that keeps a classic Athenian feel, with refined rooms, an outdoor pool, a spa floor and a restaurant that takes the view seriously.

Getting there is the part most visitors underestimate. A long haul flight, a slow ferry or an early cruise docking all leave you tired, and the last thing you want is a queue or a fare you have to argue about. A private transfer takes that off your plate. You step out, your driver is waiting, and you go straight to the door of the hotel.

Van Taxi Transfer runs fixed price minivan transfers from Athens Airport and the ports of Piraeus, Lavrio and Rafina straight to Divani Palace Acropolis.

Why a Private Transfer to Divani Palace Acropolis?

A private transfer suits almost everyone arriving in central Athens. It works for families travelling with children and luggage, for business travelers on a tight schedule, for cruise passengers stepping off at the port, and for anyone who wants the first hour in the city to be easy. Central Athens and the ports both get busy in the high season, and a private minivan means you are not left working out routes on the spot. The driver meets you, handles the bags, and drives you to the hotel with no shared stops and no detours.

Fixed transfer cost

You agree the price when you book, not when you arrive. There is no meter running in traffic and no surcharge sprung on you at the kerb. The certainty matters most when timing is tight, on a late landing, a delayed ferry, a fixed cruise departure or an early start back to the airport.

Popular transfer routes

1. Athens Airport to and from Divani Palace Acropolis

Most international visitors land at Athens International Airport, Eleftherios Venizelos, out to the east of the city. The run into the centre takes about 45 minutes on a normal day. Your driver is waiting in the arrivals hall, so there is no hunting for a taxi rank after a long flight. Book the return at the same time and the early-morning trip back to the airport is sorted before you have unpacked.

2. Piraeus Port to and from Divani Palace Acropolis

Piraeus is the main ferry and cruise harbour for Athens, about 12 km from the hotel. How long the drive takes depends on where your ferry berths or your ship docks, and on the traffic around the port. After a night ferry from the islands or a morning cruise arrival, with bags, summer heat and a crowd all moving at once, a driver who already knows your terminal is worth a lot. Book the return early in summer, when the port is at its busiest.

3. Lavrio Port to and from Divani Palace Acropolis

Lavrio sits down on the southeast coast and serves ferry routes to several Aegean islands. It is the longest of these transfers, around 61 km and roughly 1 hour and 20 minutes by road. If your ferry leaves little margin, book ahead so the timing is in safe hands.

4. Rafina Port to and from Divani Palace Acropolis

Rafina is the other big island port, close to the airport and handy for much of the Cyclades. Reckon on 50 minutes to an hour into the centre. It is a natural fit if you are pairing a flight with a ferry, since the two sit near each other, or if you land late and just want a quiet, direct ride into Athens.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where will the driver meet me?

At Athens Airport, the driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign. For port arrivals, we confirm the exact meeting point after you book. For hotel departures, the driver meets you at the agreed spot at the arranged time.

When should I reserve my transfer?

A day ahead is usually enough on most routes. In summer, book sooner for airport arrivals, ferry transfers, late rides and departures from Piraeus, Lavrio or Rafina.

What happens if my flight or ferry is delayed?

Give us your flight number or ferry details when you book. We track your arrival and adjust the pickup, so your driver meets you at the right time.

About the Hotel

Divani Palace Acropolis opened in 1976 as the first Divani hotel in Athens, and it is still known for where it stands, right beneath the Acropolis. Rooms range from the contemporary Essential, Superior and Executive categories up to the suites, which are built for longer or more comfortable stays, many with balconies facing the Acropolis. At the top, the Divine Terrace Suite and the Acropolis Terrace Suite add private terraces, outdoor jacuzzies and the Parthenon in front of you.

Whichever room you choose, your transfer brings you from the airport or the ports straight to the entrance.

Food is a big part of the stay. Acropolis Secret, the rooftop restaurant and bar, has been named Greece’s Best Hotel Restaurant. The kitchen is Mediterranean, with seafood, meat, Greek produce and wine pairings, all served against the floodlit Acropolis from 19:30 to 02:00 year round. At ground level, D Bar is the relaxed counterpart beside the outdoor pool, set among marble surfaces, with cocktails and light bites. In summer it becomes a poolside spot for a slow lunch or a cold drink after a day around the sights.

For downtime there is a fitness centre with a sauna to wind down afterwards. The pool is the quiet counterweight to a day of museums and monuments, with loungers and a calm corner away from the streets.

For meetings and celebrations, there are three event rooms, Aristotelis, Erechthion and Themistocles, each set up theatre, classroom, boardroom, banquet or cocktail style.

On foot, you are about as central as Athens gets. The Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, Plaka, Syntagma Square, the Herodium Theater and the Monastiraki flea market are all within easy reach, and the hotel keeps its own piece of the past downstairs, a display of artefacts from the ancient Themistoclean Wall.
