About the Hotel
Cape Sounio is a luxury Grecotel resort in Sounio. The resort features in Tatler’s 101 Best Hotels in the World 2026. The hotel is set on an archaeological site and faces the legendary Temple of Poseidon and the Aegean Sea. The resort is surrounded by pine forest, ancient ruins and private beaches, that create a secluded seaside setting close to Athens.
Accommodation includes newly renewed bungalows, suites and villas arranged amphitheatrically within the landscape. Many rooms and villas offer sea, garden or Temple of Poseidon views, with options such as swim up bungalows, private pool suites, family accommodation and high end villas.
Dining is a major part of the Cape Sounio experience. The resort has eight restaurants and bars that overlook the Temple of Poseidon, such as The Restaurant, Yali by the waterfront, Cape Sounio Restaurant, Aegean Grill, Beach Bar, Pool Bar, Panorama Lounge Bar and private dining options.
Cape Sounio’s Spa has been reimagined around the “Elevations of Wellness” programme created with wellness expert Vicky Vlachonis. Facilities include private massage rooms, a heated hydrotherapy pool, sea view indoor and outdoor gym, beauty salon, yoga and mat Pilates deck.
Families are well looked after. Children up to 12 can stay free in select room types and periods, with complimentary kids dining, Grecoland activities, sports, creative workshops, a children’s pool and family-friendly accommodation options.
Experiences include Temple of Poseidon tours, sea kayaking, scuba diving, snorkelling, watersports, mountain biking, yoga, private dining, wine tasting, boat trips, catamaran tours and full moon celebrations by the sea.
